The Carrie Kutner Scholarship
The Carrie Kutner Scholarship is an annual scholarship commemorating a former Student Ambassador, Carrie Kutner, who lost her battle to cancer during her time at JMU. Carrie was a caring, empathetic, and energetic leader, who was passionate about promoting an atmosphere of positivity throughout the university. This scholarship is awarded to an individual who emulates Carrie’s passion, dedication, and service to her peers and the JMU community.
The Scholarship Committee, led by Corinne Lugent, Madison Kozlowski, and Taylor Newman are responsible for reviewing applications, interviewing candidates and ultimately deciding the final scholarship recipient. Additionally, the Committee Heads manage all fundraising efforts for the Carrie Kutner Scholarship and organize the annual philanthropy event Kicks for Carrie.

Kicks for Carrie is a kickball tournament presented by Student Ambassadors to fundraise the Carrie Kutner Scholarship and celebrate Carrie's lasting impact on our organization and University. This event is open to all organizations and students on campus. Check out a recap of last year's event on our TikTok!
